The Mauritius Equestrian Sports Federation (MESF) operates this competition platform. This policy explains what personal data we collect, why we collect it, and the choices you have. We handle personal data in line with the Mauritius Data Protection Act 2017.
MESF is the national governing body for equestrian sport in Mauritius and is the data controller for the information processed on this platform.
You can contact us at any time using the details at the end of this policy.
Account data: your name, email address and a securely hashed password.
Rider profile data: date of birth, gender, nationality, phone number, licence number, club membership and emergency contact details.
Guardian data for minors: the name, phone number and email address of a parent or legal guardian, together with the record of their consent.
Horse data: the names, passport numbers and licence numbers of the horses you register.
Competition data: your registrations, payment references, results and series points.
Payment proofs: images or PDF documents of bank transfers that you upload so the federation can verify your entry fee.
Technical data: basic security logs such as login times and IP addresses.
We use personal data to manage competition entries, verify payments, produce start lists, record results, calculate season standings and contact you about your registrations by email.
Sporting results are public by nature: start lists, leaderboards and series standings show rider name, club and horse. We do not publish your contact details, date of birth or payment information.
We do not sell personal data and we do not use it for advertising.
Many of our riders are under 18. A parent or legal guardian must give consent before a minor's profile can be used for competition entry.
We store the guardian's contact details and the date consent was given. Guardians can exercise all data protection rights on behalf of the minor, including access and deletion.
Bank transfer proofs are stored in private storage and are never publicly accessible. Only authorised federation administrators can view them, through time-limited secure links, and only to verify your payment.
Rejected or replaced proofs are kept in the payment history so the federation has a complete audit trail.
Your account and profile are kept while your account is active.
Competition results and series standings form the federation's permanent sporting record and are kept indefinitely.
Payment records and proofs are kept for up to 7 years to meet accounting obligations, then deleted.
If you ask us to delete your account, we remove your personal contact details and credentials. Published sporting results may be retained as part of the historical record.
We use trusted service providers to host the platform, store files and send email. They process data only on our instructions.
We may disclose data when the law requires it. We never sell your data.
Under the Mauritius Data Protection Act 2017 you can ask for access to the personal data we hold about you, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, or object to a specific use.
If you are not satisfied with our answer, you can lodge a complaint with the Data Protection Office of Mauritius.
For any privacy question, or to request correction or deletion of your data, write to the federation using the contact details published in the footer of this site. We answer within 30 days.
